The Immortal Guard
Group Leader - Mateh ooc Mat Steele
The Overtyrant surveyed the survivors of the war with the followers of Sobek. Slith was stood with the Theologists who had provided the specialist air elemental strike force to tackle the demons. Mateh was collecting the Immortals together, what had been a rag tag foreign legion had provided the anvil that the Jackals’ enemies had dashed themselves against twice in two days. Tariq walking amongst the allies who had joined the Jackals in defeating this threat to the egg and placed their forces under his command. Shaitan recovering from the injuries he’d sustained goading and damaging Sobek. Adhem covered in gore from the enemies who had faced his axe. She couldn’t see the others, Murtagh who had worked so hard to keep the army fighting and Tapesh who had bravely joined the fight unarmoured when the Sobekite attack began. Riki, Simicas...all of them.
Smiling to herself she thought how effective the units directly loyal to the Jackals had become. Basing them all at Tanis made it easy to coordinate and had developed a real bond between them. This was a vindication of the imperial structure started under Lord Hami…They needed a title for their collective units, she pondered a moment before directing them to be referred to as the Immortal Guard, with each unit retaining its specific identity.
The Immortal Guard is made up of two units. The Immortals are the Overtyrants personal troops and provide the siege train during any campaigns the Jackals undertake. Seasoned frontline soldiers, they act as the Southland’s foreign legion, taking anyone and incorporating them into a cohesive unit. The Al’haras Al’iman are based with the Immortals at the Imperial Barracks at Tanis and represent the Jackals in their engagement with Aegyptus. Literally ‘the Faith Guard’, they ensure the rights of all Jackals to worship their ancestors is maintained and provide a potent ability to call on the ancestors of Aegyptus for support when required.
